The Martino Disabled Shelter.
The Martino Disabled Shelter was established in 2008. It's 41km from Chau’s house and From
HCMC to the disabled shelter is 158km. It has been operating for almost 13 years. The shelter has 5
nuns in charge of supporting mentally and physically disabled children. Currently, the nurses are
taking care of 47 children with disabilities. Most of the children have Agent Orange disease
Why are the children here?
All of the children come from poor families who cannot afford to take
care of them. On the other hand, the children suffered from Agent
Orange, some of them had disabilities such as deaf and dumb, and
some were mildly mentally ill.
Some mentally ill grils chilren roam the streets and are raped by bad
guys And there are a few orphans of bothparents.
Regardless of the situation, the nuns welcome and take care of the
little ones. The children live with the nuns and live together.
Why is it necessary to help them?
Because the home is in a remote area that few people know about.
And the home has no media calling for help on social media. Most of
the nuns served silently and were told by helpers orally
The nuns who adopted the children, mostly received the help of
everyone to share with each other. They are very poor physically and
mentally. All the children are girls, only 3 of them are boys. The girls
are all teenagers. Sisters need necessities such as rice, spices, .. And
necessary items for girls.
